Product information "Lungo Intenso"
As its name suggests, this lungo is very intense and powerful. Characteristic of this combination of Indian Robusta and Indonesian Arabica is the strongly spicy taste,
which harmonises with the notes of dark nougat and liquorice. Its strong character is additionally underlined by a particularly long, dark roasting in the drum process. The Lungo Intenso is ideal for coffee creations with (plant-based) milk.
Wet-hulled process
Our coffee from Indonesia is prepared using the traditional "wet-hulled" process. It works like this:
1. Ripe coffee cherries are washed and peeled mechanically.
2. Fermentation in closed tanks.
3. Wash again.
4. Drying the clean parchment coffee to about 30% moisture.
5. Parchment skin is mechanically removed.
6. Green coffee that is still moist is dried (to approx. 12% moisture).
Since the climate on Sumatra in Indonesia is very humid, the parchment layer is removed early so that the coffee can dry faster. This processing in combination with the Indonesian
terroir creates the typical "Sumatra wet-hulled" taste: spicy and earthy notes with a lot of body and reduced acidity. This makes this coffee a perfect component in our Lungo Intenso.
